Director of Strategic Sales Agri

Reports to: Head of NA OEM Sales

Location: Waukegan, IL


The Director of Strategic Sales Agri will lead a sales team focused on driving profitable and sustainable growth with Agricultural OE leaders and their partner sub-suppliers in the NA market. From supporting full line global companies producing farm tractors and implements to local short-line manufacturers, the focus is on growing market share and reach into this strategic industry for SKF Group.

Reporting to the Head of NA OE Sales, the Sales Director will develop the sales strategy and sales plans while working with the team to successfully execute and deliver on growth targets.


* Lead, coach, and motivate the Agri NA sales team including global account manager(s) for industry leading Global OEs

* Develop sustainable and profitable market share growth with current and new customers

* Partner with NA Agri Business Development Manager to develop rolling three year strategic plan /roadmap for growth

* Develop yearly business plans, update monthly progress to the plan and partner with the sales team to achieve the results

* Support career development of the sales team. Support training and competency developments where needed

* Develop a strong working relationship with the Agricultural Strategic Sales Global Group Management Team to help drive long-term global strategies and goals

* Well-connected with the 5 key SKF Agri bearing manufacturing sites for an understanding of products produced and capabilities

* Grow top line revenue faster than the AG industry as a whole. Revenue growth must be profitable

* Bring forward VOC and market trends to our Global competencies centers in order to support product development, investments and new innovation

Job Requirements

* Bachelor s Degree, Engineering preferred

* Minimum 10 years of experience in Application/Sales Engineering, Business Development, Sales or Sales Management for an industrial component company

* Aggressive, relentlessly inquisitive, and entrepreneurial

* Driven by success and a passion for winning

* Proven ability to develop positive and lasting rapport with both internal and external customers at all levels of an organization

* Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

* Thrives in a team environment

* Act as a leader; teach, coach, mentor and set a professional example within the company

* Secure an in-depth knowledge of the associated industry as well as customer products, business strategies, financials, and competitive threats

* Proven ability to develop compelling customer value propositions

* Embraces change in the name of efficiency and effectiveness

* Proven track record of success and career progression within an industrial products company

* Willingness and ability to travel 20-30% of the time domestically and internationally (as required)


* Demonstrate intermediate understanding of financial and accounting practices

* Ability to lead and develop others; willingness to train and mentor directly and indirectly

* Ability to influence others (negotiating skills, persuasiveness, and tenacity to follow up)

* Ability to communicate and present effectively, whether in-person, via web, or by telephone

* Ability to manage your time efficiently, unsupervised and work from both a home office, company office, and on the road as necessary

* Ability to develop positive and lasting relationships with external and internal (cross-functional) customers

* Demonstrate problem-solving and performance analysis skills; including strategic planning

* Demonstrate understanding and ability to communicate technical information
