Gurnee Permanent USD140,000 - USD180,000 per year

They are on the search for someone who still wants to grow with a firm. You will use your expertise to secure work with current and new clients. The company has been in business over 70 years with a very strong pipeline of work. They are looking to expand their construction team as part of their growth plan by hiring a chief estimator to take on some key responsibilities.Job Description
  • Create preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates and detailed estimates (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction) including quantity take-offs
  • Review documentation with close attention to general conditions, phasing, and site logistics
  • Create subcontractor and vendor bid lists
  • Prepare bid packages, obtain bids from subcontractors and vendors, analyze and award bid contracts
  • Participate in entire preconstruction phase
  • Collaborate with architecture team, engineering team, owner, and other key project personnel
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates by calculating takeoff for scope of work

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or Project Management required
    • 10+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor required
    • Will be considered if you have experience in any market within the GC world
    • Hands-on experience estimating projects based off blue prints
    • Interest in estimating as a career - ambitious, motivated professionals
    • Proficiency with estimating software and spreadsheet design
    • Ability to perform both hard bid and conceptual bids
    • Willingness to lead a team and mentor junior employeesWhat's on Offer
