Job Description Maintenance Mechanical / Electrical
(Manufacturing) Hours 8am-4:30pm and On-Call for breakdowns
Responsibilities: Interface with machine operators to understand
and determine machine issues. Work to determine if the problem is
electrical or mechanical, and complete repair as necessary.
Identify potential root causes using a systematic logic based
approach. Develop and implement root cause mitigation and
countermeasure options. Independently step through and deploy short
and long term solutions to minimize machine downtime. Responsible
for creating, updating, and maintaining work instructions and
support documentation. Backup and maintain a library of memory,
programs, and parameters for devices such as PLCs, programming
devices, computers, and drives. Schedule calibration of equipment
such as thermocouples. Request pricing and availability on various
machine components from vendors. Secure quotes from contractors for
certain services and coordinate with production to schedule their
completion if necessary. Replace or repair damaged electrical
components (e.g. contactors, breakers, fuses, drives) as necessary.
Must be able to assemble equipment such as production lines, new
equipment. Must maintain Preventive maintenance schedule,
unscheduled maintenance. Must be available for on call breakdowns
or repairs. Must be able to work alone. Ensure equipment
reliability to maximize production line productivity. Utilize
visual factory concepts to improve asset utilization and plant
performance. Track standard manufacturing and warehouse metrics and
prioritize plant maintenance opportunities. Maintain and build
spare parts inventory, tools, etc. to efficiently maintain plant
maintenance. Continuous development of overall department strategy.
Develop and implement process improvements. Responsible for overall
maintenance activities resulting in efficient operations obtained
through the proper maintenance of machinery within projected costs
and schedules. Hands-on involvement with all PLC/Controls
Programming projects (troubleshooting, modifying). Provided project
management and engineering skills for the installation of capital
equipment and modifications to existing equipment and production
lines. Utilized Reliability Centered Maintenance philosophy in
creating a well-rounded combination of preventive/predictive
maintenance activities. Oversee equipment stock and place orders
for new supplies when necessary. Maintain effective liaison with
outside suppliers, vendors, equipment manufacturers, and
contractors. Must be able to source parts, tools, and information
to maintain plant. Qualifications: Associates / Bachelor---s degree
in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Preferred) 5
years--- experience troubleshooting industrial machinery is
required. Experience with PLCs and drives is required. Proficiency
in the Microsoft suite of applications is required. Moderate
mechanical knowledge and experience using hand tools is required.
Self-motivator who actively seeks out opportunities to broaden
