Maintaining Auto Discovery (EG. ServiceNow Discovery, Integrations with BigFix, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, etc.) including Cloud Discovery, and how discovery and integrations populate the CMDB. Maintenance of discovery Mid Servers, Discovery IP Ranges and Schedules. Management of the IRE, Discovery logs, patterns, and probes. Support of Service Mapping efforts though scripting and discovery.Responsibilities--- Maintains the integrity of the CMDB and Discovery processes--- Maintains Discovery application tool within ServiceNow--- Manage the Service Now Discovery mid-Servers--- Support the design, development, and implementation of automated processes for gathering, populating, and maintaining CMDB data--- Identify gaps in Discovery results (compare results to inventories)--- Ensure Discovery efficiency--- Investigate new patterns that can be used to discover additional configuration items--- Identify new and more efficient ways to discover configuration items--- Review Discovery run times--- Reconcile solution of the CMDB data when exceptions are noted between CMDB, discovery information, and other authoritative production data repositories--- Participate in Configuration Management meetings--- Review the data being populated into the CMDB and act as partial owner of the CMDB--- Support Service Mapping through custom scripting, discovery error remediation.Required Job Qualifications :--- Bachelor Degree and 4 years in Information Technology OR Technical Certification and/or College Courses and 6 year Information Technology experience OR 8 years Information Technology experience, with 2 years in ITIL Process role.--- Ideal candidate shall be self-motivated and comfortable within a dynamic atmosphere--- Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment and able to handle multiple priorities.--- Experience with core ServiceNow applications and related modules, including REST APIs and integrations--- Keen understanding of ITIL framework and industry best practices with ITIL v3 or v4--- Experience with SaaS ITSM Suite of tools such as ServiceNow.--- Demonstrable experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping and CMDB--- Previous experience with Service Mapping within ServiceNow--- Experience with IT Asset Management and CMBD Integration.--- Experience with IT standards, procedures, policies.--- Familiarity with HIPAA, COBIT, ITIL, CMMI and other process standards.--- Customer relationship management.--- Experience with demand / consumption management.--- Comprehensive understanding and background in ServiceNow Discovery, including Cloud Discovery, and how it should populate the CMDB--- Strong knowledge of IP Subnets to develop effective ServiceNow Discovery schedules--- Experience developing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining ServiceNow Discovery governance processes, procedures, policies, and related documentation--- Knowledge of protocols such as HTTP, TCP, SNMP, SOAP, and REST--- System administration experience using SHELL/BASH and/or Power Shell--- Familiarity with XML and JSON/script language concepts--- Resourceful, takes the initiative to accomplish goals and objectivesPreferred Job Qualifications:--- Oral & written communications.--- Problem solving / analytical skills, tools and techniques.--- Process engineering and re-design.--- Teamwork and collaboration.--- Adaptability / ability to manage change.--- Problem solving / analytical thinking with a results-oriented focus.--- Conflict management.--- Navigating organizational politics.--- Knowledge of tools such as HCL BigFix, SCCM, JamF--- Write automation scripts using common automation tools--- Strong understanding of application architectures--- Experience mapping large and complex applications--- Experience mapping cloud resources to applications
