What A Day in the Life of a Academic Coaching Associate Is Like
The Schuler Scholar Program seeks an Academic Coaching Associate
(ACA) who is interested in working on site with a cohort of junior
and senior Scholars at Warren Township High School, one of
Schuler's partnership schools. The ACA will schedule regular
one-on-one support meetings with upperclassmen that are
academically-oriented, focusing on time management, self-advocacy,
teacher communication, academic reflection and problem-solving, and
stress management. ACAs also lead weekly after school group
programs for upperclassmen that help them succeed academically and
prepare for college. ACAs might also be asked to step into
additional higher level leadership roles on the team and take on
additional responsibilities as needed.
The qualified candidate will be ambitious, results-oriented, highly
organized, energetic and committed to the future of the
organization and the young people who are in the program. Strong
organizational skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast
paced environment, highly developed communication and interpersonal
skills and attention to detail. Candidates should be able to manage
multiple projects at one time, and should be able to work well on a
team and autonomously. Experience working with and providing
academic support and/or mentorship with young people is a must.
Facilitate direct Schuler programs
Serve as academic mentor and coach to junior and senior
Cross train in school-based and/or organization-wide position
Give feedback on lesson plans, implementation, and facilitation to
Support Scholar Coaches to customize in-school and after-school
Facilitate 1:1 Schuler program sessions, including reading
coaching, STEM coaching, and academic tutoring as needed
Act as Scholar Coach representative at cross-departmental
Serve as the point person for the College and Alumni Programs team
to assist Scholars in the transition from the high school Scholar
program to the college Scholar program.

Schuler Scholar Program are eligible for a $10,000 Education Award.

The Schuler Scholar Program is currently operating on site at all
of our locations. Staff are required to be vaccinated and boosted.
