Modis is hiring a Data Scientist. In this role you are responsible for analyzing data, drawing insights, and presenting results in a cohesive, intuitive, and simple manner to the functional stakeholders. Key functional stakeholders include R&D, Operations and Commercial. This position is on-site, located in Lake Bluff, IL - Minimum Experience: --- Successful, 5+ year track record within data science and/or advanced analytics --- Experienced in research data analysis, statistics and programming (SQL, Python, R). --- Capable of solving analytical problems and effectively communicating methodologies and results. --- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams. --- Experience with cloud services, distributed data and computing tools (AWS EC2s, EMR, Spark, Hadoop, etc.) --- Prefer experience in life sciences or healthcare industry. - Responsibilities --- Produce actionable information for investigations, algorithms for predictive maintenance and instrument modes of control and analytics-based functions/features in instrument systems under development. --- Query and prepare both structured and unstructured data using (SQL, R, Python) from on-prem and cloud-based data sources. --- Apply visualization, analytical and data mining techniques.
