The Brand Protection Manager will support initiatives in Latin America as well as provide online based investigative support.  Can be remote in the US or Latin America.     


The successful candidate will have natural intellectual curiosity with a strong analysis and technical background. This person must be a driven self-starter; who has a sense of urgency; who can meet deadlines despite obstacles. This person will have previously demonstrated an ability to handle multiple priorities and responsibilities. The successful candidate will have strong multi-tasking skills; be detail-oriented; be able to communicate effectively (frequently, unambiguously, and professionally) with both technical and non-technical people. Being a willing, effective team player who is passionate about enabling others to overcome obstacles with technology is a must.




  • Manages investigations and enforcement actions in Latin America
  • Is accountable for performance of team and influences others to adopt different points of view
  • Manage and monitor outside service providers and contractors
  • Prepares investigative plans and reports to support enforcement and legal actions
  • Obtains and manages evidence to support administrative, civil and criminal actions
  • Provide affidavits, victim impact statements and testimony to support legal proceedings
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with various UL business units and divisions
  • Prepare and provide training material and presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Build and maintain excellent partnerships with public and private sector organizations
  • Provides technical guidance to employees and customers
  • Positively impacts department’s ability to achieve ongoing service requirements and objectives
  • Support problem solving, process improvement, projects and strategic planning initiatives
  • Carefully manage and monitor assigned budgets
  • Performs other duties as directed



  • A minimum of five years’ experience managing brand protection investigations & enforcement actions
  • University Degree at the bachelor’s level
  • Strong working knowledge of law enforcement and customs procedures
  • Demonstrated first-hand experience working directly with law enforcement authorities
  • Good working knowledge of intellectual property laws in the respective region
  • Strong investigative skills with a proven ability of managing complex investigations
  • Strong experience working with and managing external service providers
  • Highly organized, analytical and detail-oriented with superior time management skills
  • Possess and established network of contacts within relevant law enforcement agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to write concise and factual investigative reports
  • Proven ability to recognize and evaluate facts and objectively analyze situations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage assigned budgets
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • UL has COVID-19 protocols and policies in place. Business related travel on behalf of UL requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
