Under minimal supervision,
responsible for coordinating multiple testing areas within the
Hazardous Locations laboratory. Schedules, assigns, reviews and
coordinates workflow to assure proper utilization of staff.
Supervises and trains assigned staff. Performs laboratory tests and
record test results in one or more related areas. These include
tests without published requirements,or those involving unique
features that require the use of independent judgment. May
plantests, evaluate test results and report opinions and
interpretations. May assist PDEs and/orEngineering to modify
existing methods or develop and validate new test methods.
Initiatesrecommendations for new equipment designs and recommends
solutions to observed testproblems. Develops operating,
maintenance, and test procedures.

career counseling, and operates as a working supervisor.
Collaborates with supervisor on staffing levels, performance
appraisals, merit ratings, promotions, and transfers of assigned
staff. Ensures company policies are followed in the lab areas, and
facilitates employee relations within the assigned laboratory

budgetary goals, capital expenditure budget for laboratory
equipment, and tactical plans for the assigned laboratory
instructions for test methods and procedures, quality control, and
maintenance procedures. Examines test samples and reads measuring
instruments, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and
operational instructions. Evaluates test performance, provides
feedback regarding issues and/or problems with test and data
sheets, and revises test protocols and data sheets. Reports test
run and test equipment evaluation results. May plan tests, evaluate
test results and report opinions and interpretations.
