What you'll do in this role:
Buying a new home is an important part of our members' lives,
not to mention that it's a big process! There are so many steps
that our members need to take, before they get to move in. As a
Mortgage Loan Officer, you will be the expert guiding and advising
our members through the mortgage loan process in their search to
purchase a home. This is a sales position with member service,
follow-up, and accurate, efficient processing of paperwork being
the key to success.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Informing members of current Mortgage rates, lending services,
and promotional items, in an effort to gain 1st Mortgage loan
- Contacting existing, new, and prospective members from all
application channels and other lead sources, to deepen
relationships, develop new business, and meet sales goals.
- Identifying cross-sell/new business opportunities through
various communication efforts (in-person sales, telephone, email,
written correspondence, external sales calls, etc.) and scheduling
follow up appointments.
- Opening/Closing a wide array of credit union products and
services! Compliance and exceptional service during every
interaction is an expectation. (But you're good at that
- Being knowledgeable of new or current product knowledge, sales
techniques, and market trends.
- Effectively transitioning he loan to other team members to help
complete the processing and get it to closing.
What you'll need to join the team:
- High School diploma required. A college degree within a related
field of study is preferred.
- At least 2 years of Sales experience (Sales, Real Estate,
Mortgage Sales, and other Financial Services or Lending
- Self-starter, who is not afraid of a challenge, and committed
to going above and beyond for our members.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, consultation, and
organization skills (Spanish bilingual skills are a plus)
- Computer proficient in Data Processing Platforms, Email,
Internet/Intranet, Instant Messaging, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask, work at a fast pace, and stay
- Propensity to be helpful, positive, act with integrity, and to
embrace inclusion & diversity
- Availability to work 40+ hours/week and be scheduled between
the following hours:
- Monday - Friday: 8:00am- 6:00pm and one Saturday per month:
