They seek a Quality Engineer as their department continues to grow and they have recently been awarded new projects. Client DetailsWe have just partnered with a family owned and operated manufacturer in the Waukegan area. They have been in business for over 75 years and serve a diverse group of long standing customers in the consumer goods, medical and industrial space. They seek a Quality Engineer as their department continues to grow and they have recently been awarded new projects. This role will report to the Director of Quality, who is known for his ability to grow and develop individuals. DescriptionThe Quality Engineer will be responsible for the following;

  • Assist Quality Director in dimensional inspection of product for PPAP's and investigations
  • Assist the Quality department in collecting and analyzing data for measurement systems analysis, capability studies, design of experiments, gauge R&R, etc.
  • Review acceptance criteria defined by customer documents to insure appropriate inspection methods and to identify and document any drawing / specification errors.
  • Compile and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to customers for approval.
  • Assist Quality Director to define and deliver responses to customer requests and inquires related to product
  • Operate and program Faro CMM's.
  • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on CMM machine using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Measure dimensions of components and finished product to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
  • Must be able to read and write CMM reports
  • Ability to develop work instructions for CMM set-up and operation for various programs
  • Use calipers, height gauges, micrometers and various other hand tools
  • Must be accurate and precise in measurements, both as presented to the customer for sample layouts and to production for first piece and dimensional checks.Profile
    • 3+ years related experience, preferably in a plastics and contract manufacturing setting
    • Ability to measure parts with a variety of QA equipment
    • Six Sigma Certification/Experience is a plus
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001Job Offer
      • Competitive base salary, between $65,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience and skills
