Double J Transport is seeking a dedicated CDL A Over the Road (OTR) Driver to join our team. Our drivers play a crucial role in our commitment to providing exceptional freight transport across the United States. Working with Double J Transport means operating a modern fleet which includes the latest technology for routing and logistics support. This roles main aim is to safely deliver goods, ensuring punctuality and compliance with all federal and state regulations. Transport goods and materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents, or violations. Proven work experience as a truck driver. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB). Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.). Willingness to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
