Description: Employment Specialist:The Employment Specialist
will collaborate with an integrated training and employment team to
prepare individuals with developmental disabilities for job
placement and assist them in maintaining retention. Position is
primarily remote, with occasional in office touchpoints. This is a
client facing role and will assist in the execution of inclusive
employment consulting engagements with community partners, under
the direction of the Director of Community Employment. Positions
are available in Lake and Cook County! Position
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals in securing employment by conducting mock
interviews, developing resumes, cover letters, and assisting with
the submission of applications
- Screen employer requirements and individual's skill level and
abilities to secure a successful employment match, and serve as a
liaison between employers and the individuals at worksite
- Build a network of relationships with employers and identify
job leads, cold calling, and networking
- Manage caseloads and document participant progress and activity
via case notes, job coaching reports, staffing and progress reports
according to the Division of Rehabilitative Services (DRS)
- Attend team and staffing meetings according to the Division of
Rehabilitative Services (DRS) requirements
- Maintain an awareness of local job market and opportunities in
various industries and market Aspire's employment services with
employers and referral sources
- Conduct job analysis with attention to job details and
environmental and social factors
- Provide ongoing job retention support to ensure the success of
placements while developing natural supports at each
community-based work location
- Create adaptive supports as needed, including but not limited
to, checklists, social stories, visual prompts and aids
- Provide transitional job coaching and continued coaching as
needed
- Execute components of inclusive employment consulting
engagements as well as create support fade out plans
- Provide one-on-one Virtual Supports job readiness trainings on
an as needed basis
- May be required to transport participants as needed
- Commute to businesses and meeting to develop relationships and
network
- Cooperates with compliance and quality improvement initiatives
and protocols
- Additional duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent- required
- Bachelor's degree in related field -preferred
- Minimum of 1-year related work experience in related field
- Experience working with adults with intellectual and other
developmental disabilities -preferred
- Valid Illinois Driver's License with good driving
record-required
- Professional demeanor while client facing
- Strong relationship-building skills with exceptional attention
to detail
- Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to
write reports
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evening and
weekends
- Ability to deal tactfully, engaging and courteously with
Individuals, employees at all levels, families and the general
