Job Description:
A Culinary Instructor with The Menta Group provides direct
instruction to and supervision of students in the area of culinary
arts and food preparation.ResponsibilitiesCreate a culinary
program-including curriculum & instruction.Prepare, clean and
maintain professional kitchen equipment.Provide direct
instructional support to students in culinary arts.Engage students
in achieving vocational and behavioral goals.Instruct special
education students with varying abilities.Prepare students for
post-secondary success.Consult with clinical staff and the
educational team in implementing classroom interventions in order
to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of the
student.Guide students to prepare and serve 70 to 100 people at
each meal (Breakfast & Lunch-Daily)Keep Records.Stock and Store
Food.QualificationsBachelor's Degree, Required IL Professional
Educator's License (PEL) *OR* 4000 Hours of proven time in working
in culinary arts/culinary instruction in order to obtain a
Provisional Teacher CertificationFood Service Safety Manager
Certification (FSSMC) licenseExperience in
training/coaching/mentoring is ideal Previous experience working
with special needs children preferredNutrition service or
Foodservice supervisionAny other relevant culinary, nutrition

recently opened a Sports Academy for grades 9 - 12. The new
curriculum incorporates athletic themes and content into the
instruction of core subject areas to sustain educational engagement
of each student. We have recently added a fully equipped weight
room and two trainers with collegiate sports experience to benefit
the health and physical aspects of our students. Eligible
student/athletes will have the opportunity to play AAU sports on
school teams in the evenings and on weekends, in addition to
community and intramural sports activities. The coaching staff
works to prepare students to complete at their highest level, thus
providing opportunities for athletes to be seen by college
recruiters and coaches. In addition to the Sports Academy, Menta
Academy North offers educational services, starting at age 5, that
meet both the developmental and individual learning needs of each

where young people have the opportunity to experience educational
