ICU/Critical Care RN in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, 53158! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive
Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per
Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent ICU
experience required License: Wisconsin/Compact License required
Certifications: Must have BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS in hand Must-Have:
Must include 2 supervisor references from within the last year,
including one from the most recent/current assignment. Strong CRRT
skills are required. Will float to IMCU (stepdown) if needed.
Description: This position requires a registered nurse in the ICU.
The role involves caring for critically ill patients. Nurses will
provide supervision and support to junior staff. The
patient-to-nurse ratio will be 2-3. Experience with Epic charting
system is preferred. Travel experience is required. Candidates must
demonstrate skills in accessing/managing ports, arterial line
management, and assisting with chest tube insertion/removal. The
nurse will manage patients on continuous IV sedation and with
multimodal therapies. There is a focus on the care of ventilated
patients and the management of complex medical conditions. Ongoing
education and training in advanced practices are crucial. Infection
prevention and isolation precautions must be adhered to diligently.
Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is necessary to ensure
comprehensive patient care. The nurse will be expected to conduct
assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and respond to emergency
situations. Administration of medications and blood products is a
core responsibility. Lifelong learning and adaptability to new
protocols and practices are essential for success in this role. 5
