With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company.

The Manager of High Performance & Sustainable Construction is responsible for coordinating and integrating sustainable building practices into Pepper Construction projects. The candidate will assist all project management teams pursuing LEED project certification. The Manager of High Performance & Sustainable Construction is an advocate for sustainability within The Pepper Companies, the construction industry and the surrounding communities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop tools for Green Building construction
• Assist Project Management in the execution and documentation of sustainable building strategies
• Consult on the Pepper Construction Environmental Policy
• Participate in Green Building interviews
• Assist Marketing in developing Pepper Construction Green Building information
• Actively participate in sustainable construction advocacy and peer groups
• Assist Project Management Teams pursuing LEED project certification
• Chair the Pepper Construction Green Building Committee
• Develop strategies to continually improve the sustainably of Pepper Construction
• Communicate regularly with employees on sustainable living practices POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or Environmental Science
  • LEED Professional accreditation
  • LEED Administrator experience preferred
  • 5 years experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task and pay close attention to details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
