DescriptionConsumers Credit Union (CCU) is looking for a Manager Digital Payments! Do you have a strong interest in FinTech and digital transformation? This is a fantastic opportunity for a financial services professional that has experience with ACH and real-time payments and likes to coordinate department initiatives that improve payment solutions and enhance the member experience. Schedule/Location: This is a flex / hybrid position - 2 days/week onsite; 3 days/week work from home. Onsite days will start in Gurnee, IL then will move to our new location in Lake Forest, IL later in 2023!
As the Manager Digital Payments, you'll report to the Director and will be responsible for overseeing, planning, and coordinating department initiatives that improve payment solutions (such as Zelle and FedNow) and enhance the member experience. This is a people management role directing and coaching a team of 6. You'll need strong project management, change management and people leadership skills to implement innovative payment solutions for our growing financial institution! INNOVATIVE is the key word here!
Major Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners while assisting in the execution and implementation of CCU's automated clearing house (ACH) and real-time payment's (RTP) strategy.
  • Act as a disruptive innovator with eyes and ears to the markets served. You'll uncover unmet needs using research and data.
  • Proactively research payment technology and meet with existing and potential payment related BaaS and FinTech partners to develop innovative revenue streams related to payments.
  • Assist in the execution of the launch strategy for payment-related products.
  • Manage and analyze metrics and KPI reporting for the Department.
  • Review and recommend improvements to operational systems and procedures that will improve member experience and/or scalability. You'll drive performance improvement throughout the Credit Union using payment systems and will leverage payments technology.
  • Drive employee education, training, and awareness of real-time payments. You'll advocate payment innovation throughout the Credit Union.
  • Manage and develop staff, including performance reviews, time and attendance, workflow management and employee relations. As a manager, you will oversee employee development, retention, and training.
  • Ensure the department meets service level standards for member service, risk management, audit soundness and regulatory compliance.
  • Recommend and implement operational procedures and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements as well as established credit union procedures.

    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Finance, Business or related
    • 6+ years' experience in Project Management, Lean/Six Sigma, Digital Transformation
    • 2+ years' experience in People Management
    • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) is beneficial!
    • Enthusiasm for FinTech. You have a strong interest (dare we say "obsession"?) in things like real-time payments, financial apps, and cryptocurrency
    • Project Management skills and high level of organizational aptitude
    • Change Management skills
    • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with cross-functional colleagues and vendors
