Job Description - Supply Chain Manager (SUP0100LW)Job Description Supply Chain Manager(Job Number: SUP0100LW)Primary Location: US-IL-WAUKEGANDescription JOB SUMMARY: Accountable for the following activities at an FDA regulated manufacturing site operating on 24 hour x 7 day production schedule: Demand forecastingMachine SchedulingRisk mitigation through multi-sourced materialsMaterial purchasing, vendor payment and sourcingVendor managementCORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Team consists of two direct reports --- 1 buyer and 1 production planner.Manages the purchasing of all raw materials and O/M supplies. Updates, reviews and maintains MRP system data to ensure accurate forecasts, timely material purchase and deliveries, and adequate finished product inventories.Works with raw material vendors to ensure the lowest cost, stocking programs, annual budgeting, contract support escalations, negotiations, and contract adherence monitoring.Communicates frequently and effectively with all levels of the organization.Sets target levels of inventory to allow for efficient use of warehouse space while meeting production schedule and customer demand requirements. Prepares and presents future projections of finished product demand, inventory, volume and service planning and space considerations. Assures that the system parameters driving purchase orders are correct. Manages communications with all suppliers, domestic and import (via Medline Shanghai office).Drives material sourcing and cost savings negotiations with vendors. Collaborates with site production and engineering departments and corporate purchasing to complete trials and conversion plans for alternative materials or vendors to achieve cost savings goals for division.Develop and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation.Collaborate with all other site managers to deliver overall site and divisional business objectives. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:Bachelor---s degree.RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years manufacturing, distribution or purchasing experience.Experience demonstrating knowledge level of MRP, buying, demand management and forecasting.At least 2 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing and motivating and directing people as they work.ADDITIONAL:Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.Experience managing critical data for business systems requiring attention to detail.Experience solving practice problems and addressing multiple variables in an environment of rapid change.Experience analyzing data and/or process to identify issues, trend, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.Experience developing and updating contracts and negotiating pricing agreements.Experience assessing and initiating actions independently. Experience taking charge of a situation, team or project.Experience presenting to and communicating with various audiences (ex. others with differing language, senior management and non-technical audiences).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with FDA regulations and processes preferred.Experience with MRP systems.Experience in domestic and import logistics; inventory planning and transportation.Experience with SAP and Excel.
