opening for a Full-time Assistant Corporate Controller to work in

unsurpassed.This position assists the Controller and Chief
Financial Officer in performing the accounting functions for the
Mariani family of companies to ensure continuity throughout the
organization. These functions include assisting with the accounting
principles, practices, and procedures for Mariani Enterprises. This
position assists with generating effective reporting for the
company.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential
functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the
following:Follow company policies, procedures, and work
standards.Assists appropriately during audit periods in gathering
data for review.Perform month-end and year-end closing
processes.Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts
payable.Assists in preparing budget vs. actual analysis on a
monthly basis, including tracking budget variances.Track cash
balances and assist with goal to efficiently utilize the Company's
Lines of Credit balances.Ensure accounts receivable is tracked and
collected on a timely basis.Performs routine Bank Reconciliations
with Detail.Maintains records in standardized department format for
filing of tax reports.Establish and maintain systems and controls
which verify the integrity of all financial data for Mariani
companies.Maintains effective documentation for the Accounting
functions and A/P.Prepare reports required by regulatory
agencies.Assist in developing good relationships between the
department and clients.Assist with overseeing all General Ledger
processing and manage all Accounts Receivable aging
components.Consistently evaluate work and determine if further
steps are needed to meet internal and external client
expectations.Maintain high standard of quality of all work
performed.Participate in weekly departmental and training
meetings.Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner and
ensure accuracy of all paperwork, including, time-off requests, and
other necessary information.Arrive for each work day on time and
prepared.NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESParticipate in
and contribute to Mariani initiatives.Assist in mentoring and
training of new Accounting and Finance Team Members.Assist other
team members in the performance of their assignments.Develop new
ideas that will help the department run more
efficiently.Participate in other department and business functions
as needed (i.e. the snow removal process in emergencies, holiday
retail, administrative support, etc.).Other duties as
assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThis position is responsible for
assigning, reviewing, and checking work of other
employees.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's DegreeField of Major
Study (if applicable): Accounting and FinanceKNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
REQUIREMENTS5-7 years experience in a professional Accounting and
Finance role, CPA a plus but not required.Demonstrate strong
knowledge of Accounting principles and financial
functions.Demonstrate proficiency in performing financial audits
and compliance.Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office,
specifically Excel, including generating formulas.Ability to lead
others and act as a mentor for supporting team members.Demonstrate
strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with external
clients and Mariani associates on a consistent basis.Demonstrate a
strong attention to detail.Ability to work in a team environment,
including taking direction and constructive feedback from managers,
as well as providing feedback to other team members and
managers.Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume
deems it necessary.Minimize non-productive time and fill slow
periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the
future needs of internal and external clients.Ability to deliver
quality results under tight deadlines.Ability to learn, navigate
and use, with success and accuracy, the company production software
(ASSET).Demonstrates a commitment to self development and
continuing education.Demonstrate accountability for work being
performed and completed on schedule.WORKING CONDITIONSWork requires
intermittent physical activity including standing, reaching and
prolonged periods of sitting and working extensively at a computer
terminal. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in
response to internal and external client needs and deadlines.
