We're on the hunt for our next Vice President of Mortgage Lending! While reporting directly to the Chief Lending Officer/Chief Experience Officer, you will be responsible for working both strategically and tactically to enable and support the delivery of key strategic initiatives and business objectives for mortgage lending. This is a great opportunity for an experienced mortgage lender who has a track record of growing originations and sustaining performance year over year.

Location: This is a hybrid / flex position based in Northern Illinois with a combination of work from home and onsite days each week (Gurnee in 2023. Lake Forest in 2024).
Responsibilities:

  • Significantly grow our first lien mortgages and second lien home equity loans and lines of credit portfolios.
  • Create and execute the direction and goals of mortgage lending in support of overall organizational strategic objectives.
  • Ideate, recommend, and execute initiatives to enhance performance of employees, member experience, processes, and efficiencies.
  • Plan, oversee and lead the work of teams to meet functional and individual operational objectives and goals. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Responsible for team staffing, performance, discipline, and employee issue resolution.
  • Assign specific key performance indicators (KPIs) to each area of responsibility and ensure performance to achieve the KPIs.
  • Stay informed of current and emerging technologies, processes, and consumer demands. Evaluate and leverage technologies that improve employee experience, improve member experience, and reduce member friction.
  • Utilize data, process improvement and other tools to continually enhance the member and employee experience with enhanced focus toward mortgage lending.
  • Foster collaboration and transparency with leaders and employees through open communication, team building, and connecting KPIs to the strategic direction.
  • Ensure professional development, deliver accurate and timely feedback regarding overall performance, utilize performance management system to document performance, and provide timely delivery of performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key business partners and vendors to support an improved member experience and growth objectives.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Project Management, Finance, Marketing, Communications or related is preferred.
      • 8+ years' experience in mortgage production, mortgage operations, commercial lending, consumer lending. 12+ years' experience in lieu of education. We are looking for an experienced leader in mortgage lending to step into this position.
        • 5+ years' People Leadership experience. Ability to achieve results through people by successfully setting objectives, coaching for performance, motivating, delegating, teambuilding and empowerment.
        • Track record of ensuring that Mortgage Lending activities and objectives contribute to the company's long-term success. We are looking for a Mortgage Lending expert who can work across the business as a leader.
        • Strategic thinking, ability to propose courses of action that further objectives, priorities, and vision of the department.
        • Member / Customer focus, ability to find solutions, resolve member concerns, and reduce member friction points.
        • Business development skills, track record of generating leads, expanding client base, and developing revenue.
